Cafe Southall…the place to be !!

Southall Cafe reminds me of the suburban town in London, where most of Indians stay, because of which is called “Little India“.

This lounge cum café is located @ Janpath,Tolstoy Lane Delhi. It’s near to Janpath metro Station. The invincible restaurateur Priyank Sukhija – with his varied establishments, has again come up with its new creation. It has rustic vintage décor best suitable for long stressed evenings. It has a three side entry to the lounge. They have 2 floors available. We opted for Ground floor. You have a whooping lounge bar and seating where you can choice to select a table with long chairs or the comfortable couches. Since the place is full of sensuous lights & music, they also have Live performances going on.

Menu: (5/5) The menu is quite diverse for both veg and non veg. They serve delicacies among North Indian, Italian, Continental, and Asian cuisines. They have given very unique & HATT-Ke names for their signature cocktails like Masala Mar Ke, Swag, Patola. Just not with the names, but each one of them has diff preparation and awesome taste. Aside this, you have Mojitos, Martinis, Vodka, Mocktails.

Food : (5/5)  

We visited here for a Saturday brunch. Started of with the drinks and a must say the twisted flavored drinks were awesome. We ordered many items like:

Non veg:

  • Chicken Caeser Salad with Balsamic Dressing was yummy.
  • Murg Malai Tikka good. It was not too dry and optimally creamy for awesome taste
  • Pesto Fish Tikka: was superb, thick pesto marinated coated over cubes of fish, grilled to perfection, this dish is surely a must have
  • Chicken Dimsums were fabulous.
  • Goan Prawn Fettucine is another delicacy that is good in taste, presentation, and quantity.
  • Multani Panner Tikka, Amritsari Fish tikka were properly cooked. Served hot and crispy along with chutneys.
  • Non veg platter: It had yummy kebabs and tikka’s.




  1. Mix Vegetable Dimsums: It had mix veg filling & was properly steamed. Full of veggies properly minced. One portion comprises 4-5 dumplings.
  2. Corn & Fennel Tikki : For veggies, fennel tikki is a must try here. It has nice crispy tikki served with chutneys
  3. Rajma Galouti Mini Sliders were different colour burgers served with Rajma patties and onion. Patty was soft & had melt-in-the-mouth texture.

 Mocktails :

  • Fruit Punch: Mixture of fruits like Pomegranate, Apple, Mint.It was the perfect Mocktail. There were chunks of those fruits too.
  • Strawberry Orange Slush : It was equally good.
  • Green Apple and Chilli : It has a little spicyness tangling with apple flavor. Overall nice one to try.
  • Passion Fruit Cooler was really great & my fav

In the main course, we ordered Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani, Rogan Josh, Methi Malai Mushroom and Kadhai Paneer. All were equally good with balanced spices and well presented.

Desserts: Bringing our culinary extravaganza to an end, we had Blueberry Cheese Cake, Oreo Ice cream and Hot Chocolate Sundae, all were amazing, especially the cheese cake.



Portions: (4/5) They provide good quantity portions, so you don’t have to worry for it. Each item ordered can serve 2.

Presentation: (4/5): Food was nicely presented with all fresh leaves and icings.

Prices:  INR 1200 for two {approx.}

Service: (3.5/5) Service was little slow and also servers were getting confused among the table orders, but overall it was fine


What the ratings stand for: 5 = Excellent, 4 = Very Good, 3 = Good, 2 = Fair, 1 = Disaster.
