Its till date my fav & best theme based restaurant , with amazing decor and quite spacious. Sector 29 is the fast growing market of Gurgaon with so many restaurants. Prankster is a colossal single floor restaurant with school based theme.
As I step into the lobby, a large upside down red horse welcomes me glasses on all side. The stairs had an amazing led decoration of upside down images and a notice board just like in school days.An old camera with roll developed at the corner. Inside the restaurant they have varied sections like the Classroom, Library, Chemistry Lab, Canteen, Parking Lot, Amphitheater, etc. Its also called the Food & Brewery campus of Gurgaon 🙂 . The interiors at Prankster are gracefully done with chemistry lab section having images emblazoned on the walls, beakers set with blooming plants, library setup done with chandelier created out of open books, table lamps set on pile of books and a high definition projector to view media, bunker beds, the amphitheater with the multi level seating & the parking lot with a line up of Lambretta scooters converted into comfortable seats with backrest with tables settled mid & a jeepsy. The seating is appt to section and very comfortable. Library has chairs on both side of a long table with beautiful lamp shades while the chemistry lab does the same with high stools .Unlikely classroom section has seats joined to tables, taking us back to school memories.

We has our seating inside the classroom which has a blackboard, high definition projector, a multi coloured painting of Einstein and lamp shades made by using big paint brushes. More than anything, Prankster surprises you with its unparalleled innovation serving the “nostalgic progressive cuisine”, connecting the foodies with their nostalgic years memories in modern way.
To start with in Veg, we had Nitro cooked Dahi Bhalla, Papdi (4/5) which is an ice-cream that has the exact flavor of dahi bhalla, believe it or not, its a savory dish. Basically its a bhalla mixed with curd ,chilled icecream balls, flavored with dehydrated tamarind chutney and a -20 degree nitro papri. Authentic being crunchy !! Pao Bhaji Zinker Burger(5/5) is another innovative dish which was full of pranks & is similar to mumbai vada pao. Its served inside the Rubik’s cube where some of them are empty. It has same authentic & spicy vadapao flavor with chili chutney. Reminds me of my college canteen tikki bun. Next was Bun Cholle(5/5), which was closed bun with chickpeas inside. It was very soft and full of flavors. In Non veg , we had Tempura Fried Prawns with Podi (5/5)– crispy fried prawns served on a stainless steel ruler diaognally with flowers around. Tender Tandoori Lamb Chops (5/5) which were scrumptious. Very tender, and at end clear bone was visible served with onion lachchas.
Must mention is the pizza (5/5) which had flakky base just like our canteen aloo patties. It was well cooked & full of crunchiness. Toppings had all fresh veggies. Must try dish.
In Main course we had, Compressed Paneer Barrels in Thai Curry (4/5) which was thai curry having panner rolls. Very soft and authentic.Daal Makhani (4/5) was again full of flavors and creamy texture.Served with butter lachcha paranthas. You feel like binging on the food here !
In dessert we had Jalebi with Saffron Ice Cream (5/5) – Have no words to express this dish. Love it to the core. Jalebi was plated in 3 forms as in big jalebi circles, papad and pearls (boondi ) all served with the saffron ice cream. Again a must try here ! Another sweet dish was Rose kheer. It was live presented by Chef Harangad, where he used liquid nitrogen to garnish rose flowers and served over in house kheer.
The food was totally par excellence with its creative twist. Prices are pocket friendly and must visit place house/office parties 🙂
