Delhicacy as the name suggests, the theme of this restaurant is Purani Dilli’s Food. It located @ first floor of Galleria Market in DLF Phase 4, Gurgaon. It’s a hidden gem of Gurgaon, which saves us the time to travel to old Delhi for finger licking great food.

The restaurant is run by a young couple (Prabbal & his wife) since Jan 2015, and recently 2 weeks back they renovated it to increase the dining space. They ensure to be available at the restaurant (either of them) to manage the show– from taking the order to serving at times & also in clearing the plates at times. While a small chat with them, they told us that they themselves visit & buy the spices from diff places. They then try a hand with them and add it to existing dish to enhance its flavor. Even the bread’s (Kulche, pao) used here cannot be find in any market shops. I think it’s there secret what makes them so unique and authentic.

They offer lip smacking & mouth-watering dishes by maintaining the traditional & old Delhi authenticity of chaat’s and other variety. They Along with Dine in, they have food delivery facility too with a tie up with Swiggy & Foodpanda. They maintain a separate kitchen to maintain hygiene.

Ambience: (4/5) Far from being a typical eatery restaurant, “Delhicacy” palatial eatery is haute Chinese to the hilt, with good ambiance and soft music in the background. They have wooden sitting with colorful comfortable cushions & aluminum chairs too. This place is recently renovated and been given a beautiful charm by this couple.

Cuisine / Menu: (5/5) Only Veg is served here. The food variety & taste is authentic and the best in vicinity. They are going to launch new menu soon as a part of renovation, with no much hikes in prices.

Food : (5/5)  We ordered the chat chotore of every variety like in :

  1. Drinks: Shikanji Mojito, Khada Masala Chai
  2. Chaat Chatore:

Bedmi Aloo with Raita : (4/5) A classic from the streets of Chandni Chowk, Bedmi is a type of poori with dal stuffing inside  & served with classic aloo ki sabzi, imli chutney(with saunth) and kachalu chaat. Here the poori was zero in salt with perfect texture, perfectly puffed and perfectly fried . Aloo subji was tangy, lil spicy and very tasty. Perfect spices mix.

Palak Patta Chaat (5/5) :A perfect fusion of Delhi’s papdi chat and palak. Palak leaves (spinach) had been made into crisp ‘leaf like shape ‘ by frying and then made a chaat. It had awesome lip smacking taste with perfect amount of spices and chutneys.

Patile Wale Matar Kulche (4/5) : Kulche are soo soft & way better than the usual sloppy bread version that is available in markets .Even Matar are properly cooked. No much spices and well garnished.

Bhature Cholle (5/5)  :(2 pc)  Soft, perfectly puffed & fried Bhature with well cooked cholle and kachalu chaat . Bhature had a yellow texture from inside, which was Haldi,Paneer & Daal added while baking. Our hands were not smached with oil/ghee  was best part of it.

Aloo Pyaaz Paratha with Raita (5/5): Parantha’s were served with Boondi Raita, pickle. I just loved the pickle. Parantha’s were too yummy and less thick, increasing its crispyness.

Premium Aloo Tikki (3.5/5) : Served with chutney and onion. It has yellow daal mixed in it.

 3) Deserts:

Desi Ghee Jalebi (Just 50 bucks for 100gm) (5/5): They use only desi ghee for Jalebi and it has a fermented feel in the middle part, thus adding a tinge of sour that acts as a good balance to the sweet. Its served hot along with rabri (if you asked them to).

Portions: They provide good quantity portions, so you don’t have to worry for it. Each item ordered can 2 people easily.

Presentation: They have a unique way of presenting the food. Cutlery used is superb and works as add-on to the dining experience.

Service: Servers are well organized and aware of menu & dishes. Service is quick & clean. Best part of this restaurant is always a server is available to take your order. The owners always be around to see if everything goes well.

Prices: What they offer is not much expensive and within budget.Cost for 2 – INR 300, along with drinks.

Recommended:  I had a pleasant dining experience eating old delhi chaat chattore’s here. Just to fulfill my chatkori belly again will highly recommend visiting here & ordering  Palak Patta chat & Bedmi Aloo with Raita, Bhaji’s and Jalebiiiiii  J. Being frank, everything is best here.

What the ratings stand for: 5 = Excellent, 4 = Very Good, 3 = Good, 2 = Fair, 1 = Disaster.
