United Coffee House Rewind..relish the old days @ cyber hub

Hello friends, i am back with the food review of United Coffee House Rewind which takes a topical turn to the its heritage legacy restaurant in CP. So no more heading to CP or DLF Mall of India for UCH as its opened in cyber hub as UCH’s hip new bistro called Rewind.

Rewind will be a fresh take on UCH, which will offer you a wide variety of 300 + salads, soups, smoothies, different delicacies and desserts. It is said so, because it will have UCH signature dishes along with new menu to set the new niche for serving the people for generations by giving them an unforgettable fine dine experience.

Rewind is located at 1st floor in cyber hub & its ambience has a retro look with exquisite decor and photographs hanging around, comfortable seating and spacious enough to accommodate 50 pax .Classical twist with music of 70s-80s hitting the right chords adds to the scrumptious food & lovely evenings.

Coming to the tasting session, here are the dishes and the cocktails I tried
MOCKTAILS

Jamunrita -A Flash Frozen black jamun extract spiked with red chilli ,foggy clove smoke is chilled refreshing and tangy to its name. Its served in a filter glass within a huge glass bowl filled with liquid nitro, emitting smoke/flumes adds to it presentation while making it look more tempting. Its truly an amazing drink and a must try from the menu.

Sitara Phool: Another refreshing drink served with the appetizers was made up of burnt star Anise flavoured with rose, tamarind water, topped with soda crushed ice.

In snacks we tried, Chinjabi Veg platter which had delicious crispy chilli potato, asian paneer skewer, spring rolls, paneer tikka & kumbh ke soole. It was served with pita breads and flavored sauces. For veggies its a must try. Next we tried Veg Mezze which was snap-pea falafel , spinach & cheese samousek. It was okayish in flavor but can be improved.

Next was Mathur Chicken Chaat which is part of their Salads menu and was delicious. It had grilled chicken with tangy seasoning of chilies, coriander, onion & tomatoes. The best snack which is unforgettable is “Daryaganj Giant Samosa”, a large samosa with crispy layer relished inside with dry fruits and tamarind.

In Main course, we tried both veg/non-veg delicacies like changezi murgh, paneer do pyaza & lahori meat served with assorted indian breads.Food was scrumptious and authentic to its flavor. Lot tempting to refrain 😛

In Desserts we tried their, Atomic Kalajamun with vanilla ice-cream & Bromley Apple Pie.

To end this wonderful food journey we had their Bombay Cutting Chai, authentic to its name & presentation. Signature cona coffee served with cute little cookies. Strong and awakening coffee made with dense cream and milk left its taste on the palette for quite long.

North Indian Delights @ Made in punjab

Made in Punjab is a famous restaurant by Zorawar Kalra. It has many outlets in different cities like Noida, Bangalore. As the name suggests it serves the very famous and delicious North Indian Punjabi delicacies, which are rich in flavor with spicy preparations and traditional to the core.

I visited this restaurant with my family at Dlf Cyber city, ground floor, near Farzi cafe.Since it was a friday night, this place was heavily packed. Since we reserved the seats, didn’t face any problem. As we entered, they have beautiful, spacious ambience.Comfortable seating areas with enough space for movement. Very cozy and warmth. They have a diff bar area , family sitting area and buffet section.Punjabi tracks been played on the background.

We started with Tokri Chaat and the Popeye Paaji ki Chaat (5/5). Chaats were lip smacking, fully stuffed and crunchy served in Dahi with chutney, murmure & anaar  toppings. Paneer Barrel Tikka(5/5) – Their own version of the classic Paneer Tikka, having crispy paneer balls soft & juicy from inside, stuffed with dry fuits. We also tried honey chilli potato(4/5), which was served hot and cripsy. The servers ensured that every table has chutney, onions and papads in full. Loved the presentation.

In non veg, we ordered Lol (5/5), mutton minced patty(4/5), murgh malai tikka(4/5) and roasted chicken (4/5). Everything was properly cooked and full of juicy flavours. In cocktails, we had Nashili Chai (5/5) which is their own unique tea concoction with an vodka flavor @ d end & served with cutting chai glasses each stuffed with orange slice. 3 diff types of shots, booming with liquid nitrogen. In mocktail, we tried spicy guava (5/5), full of spicy-ness and flavor.

Since we were full, we ordered less in Main course. Daal Makhani (5/5) with  rice & Lachcha paranthas are my all time fav. Everything was served hot with amazing presentation. Dal Makhani was bang on. full of flavours , aroma and texture, how a punjabi would love and go mad for. At end, on chef’s recommendation, we tasted Guchchi Pulao (5/5).It was a medium spicy rich dish prepared as an assortment of rice, spices , veggies and guchchi (mushroom). It was lip-smacking delicious. Must try!!

From their dessert section, we tried nukkad jalebi(5/5) with rabri and stuffed gulab jamun. Jalebi was amazingly sweet and well flavoured with rabri. Stuffed gulab jamun were filled with hot chocolate and had an amazing presentation.

TheoBroma @ Cyber City, Gurgaon

Theobroma!! As name suggest, “food of the gods”!! Mumbai’s rock star landed in Gurgaon @ Cyber city recently. They are famous for  yummy brownies. I was very excited to visit it on sunday evening for lip smacking brownies, but my excitement faded away in first bite itself.

Ambience (4/5) :Like many other restaurants in Cyber Hub, this place has an outdoor seating with beautiful pastel pink and green interiors and exteriors. This place is surely add-on to the whole Cyber Hub delight.

Menu (4/5): you have variety of cakes/pastries/pie available here with modern twist.

We ordered
# Oreo brownie  : It was awesome , but could have been better if served hot. It was dry and hard.
# millionaire brownie: Was served dry & hard. Didn’t taste well.

# Rainbow cake pastry: Best ever tasted. Colorful &perfectly baked.

# Banofee pie : Awesome flavor of Banana & choclate

# Red velvet brownie: It had a smell of Christian Dior old perfume called poison.

# macaroons : They were Okayish. Could have been better.

Service: The servers were not able to manage the crowd and were serving cold hard brownies. They even charged us for Packing bags, even after informing that we will sit here & eat. They were rude and were not at all helpful.

Recommendation:  Variety & Quality is good, but didn’t had a good experience !!
