Cyber Hub is back in trends with lots of new eatery junctions and new lights,music . Love for food can make you travel to far off busy places,just the same happened with me last weekend. I travelled for this peculiar place from Noida, as heard a lot about its signature Buns. With their 18 outlets allover the world ,Papparoti is now bringing their signature buns to India. After Hyderabad, they have recently opened up in Cyber Hub.

Ambience is very lively here with darkwood chairs & sofa seating. Service is very prompt and you will be attended at utmost importance. Servers will ensure you are given full support. They always guide you with what to order. I was too suggested for their Signature Buns. In first serve look, its seems as a regular, brown bun…but when you have its 1st bite, you can feel the most soft, relishing tasty bread, filled inside with a coffee caramel topping.

About the Brand:

In 2003,Malaysia  was the first to be introduced with unique concept of Pappa Roti. It  literally means Father of Breads (Buns here)  & is owned by a woman who is the master franchiser for Middle East. The brand specializes in  unique mouth watering coffee coated butter bun served alongside  with variety of beverages. It has 18 outlets worldwide and now its recently opened in India,Delhi. Its dubai branch is my all time fav.

About Buns:

Here the Buns are served with  coffee to enhance their taste, but even served alone they are whole. With its first bite only, you can feel the delicious aroma and taste of tangy coffee caramel. It’s a soft bun with outer coffee crust prepared with coffee icing and the stuffed butter inside the bun. Coffee icing is piped on top of the bun while baking that melts and get baked and form a thick crust on top. Its said to be a south african origin food.

I visited this place with my friends for evening high tea and snacks. Tried almost their signature dishes and must say its an amazing place to visit. Along with the soft fluffy buns, they also serve aromatic teas in 9 flavors and many other beverages like Ice tea, cold coffees. And the pics says it all.

The brand has witnessed  different expressions with one bite of the bun , so brand has new tagline , “One Bite Different Expressions”.

I had Peach & Mango Icetea, which was yumm. It had full flavors of peach and mango balanced well. Along with it i called for their Signature Bun, with no flavors. Definitely one bite of it was enough to taste their secret.Here you can have many add on flavors to give your bun a twist. Like Honey, Dark chocolate, Strawberry, etc.

Next we had was Maggi Goreng, which was yummiest. 2 eggs poached on special masala style maggi.  After it we tried our hand on South African Flavored origined High tea, in Jasmine Pearl essense. Must say its a worth try and new wine for me !  In snacks we tried Double Chow (veg) – which was bombay styled pao bhaji. Big bread piece pierced in mid and full of bhaji, served along with potato chips. Tasted delicious. Nest we tried small Nonveg pizza, which was crispy and tasty. Corn chaat was cold and served authentic to its flavor.

Last but not the least,we gave a shot at their most USP bun, Nutella with crushed oreo & almonds. Made my day as it was perfect for person with sweettooth like me !

Amritsar Diaries | Day 1

Amritsar is great weekend gateway form Delhi-NCR region, now a days. Its just 400km approx and takes 8hrs approx excluding stoppages. You can plan early to leave on friday evening and enjoi your weekend there.

We planned our Amritsar trip over 26th Jan long weekend. We had a big family with kids, so we have to plan safely and properly. We left From Gurgaon at 5am in the morning and followed the Delhi→karnal->Ambala-> ludhiana→Amritsar route, as mentioned on many blogs.

Our first stop was at Jhilmil restauarnt for our breakfast. Its a humongous place with proper car parking, clean washrooms and most of all quick service of delicious food. You will just love it there. Nearby you have karnal Lake too, if you wana stop by and have a small picnic there.

After we left from here, we had heavy brunch, so no more stoppages required. We yet stopped at petrolpump and many tolls of worth (125,75, 75, 26 etc). So be prepared with lot of small currency money.

We reached Amritsar at 3.30 pm approx and moved to our Sarai (booked previously). Always ensure to book your rooms in Amritsar , before traveling and try to check pics of its room first. We booked a Sarai near Golden temple, to ease our stay, but it turned bad. Way to Sarai was so thin, that we have to park our car like 3km away and take local e-rickshaw’s. So advisable is to book room in Amritsar new city and then travel via local mode.

About Amritsar: Amritsar is home to the Harmandir Sahib (commonly known as the Golden Temple), the spiritual and cultural centre for the Sikh religion.According to the 2011 census, the population of Amritsar was 1,132,761 and it is the second most populous city of Punjab. The main commercial activities of Amritsar include tourism, carpets and fabrics, farm produce, handicrafts, service trades, and light engineering. The city is known for its rich cuisines, culture & history. Places of attraction here all related to History, like Golden Temple, Ramteerth temple, Durgiana temple, Jallianwala bagh.

We had our itinerary ready and upcoming was Gobindgarh Fort, which was 4km from our sarai. We freshened up , left using local rickshaw. It charged us Rs.10 per person. After reaching there, we enquired about Light & sound show there & 7D shows. Ticket price is approx 160Rs per person. It includes only sightseeing and shows, museum entry. No food or photography allowed inside.

Initially we were sceptical visiting this place, but it was worth the time & money. Light & sound show was dedicated to Amritsar History and era. Loved watching it. It was for approx 30mins. Then we enjoyed folk-dance, Gidda and many more items. Next we headed to History museum inside. Its newly opened and displays many kind of talwars, gidda history and much more. Worth a visit.

Major attractions at Gobindgarh Fort :

Sher e Punjab – A glorious history from the past depicted through the means of technology, to entice, enlighten, educate, enthrall and inspire. A 7D show based on the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh that transports you back to the 19thcentury in an immersive way leaving you enchanted and is aptly called Sher e Punjab.

The Bungalow – Ancient Warfare museum – The grand building of the Anglo Sikh Bunglow has now been converted to an Ancient Warfare museum and today has several replicas of instruments and attires of warfare. It has many real, lifelike figurines that are so realistic they seem they would come alive if touched.

Spirit of Punjab – A stage that keeps the fort alive all day long with live performances of bhangra, gatka, gidda, comedy, games, dholi etc. Several prizes are here to be won each day.

Ambarsari Zaika – People here engage themselves in the various food shops and stalls that offer the choicest of Amritsari and Punjabi cuisine along with some other eatery options as well.

Haat Bazaar – You can feast your eyes as you roam the well located Haat Bazaar that offers fares right from phulkaris, juttis, shawls, antiques etc. for you to purchase from.

Whispering Walls – Kanda Boldiyan Ne or Whispering Walls is a show using state of the art projection mapping technologies and laser lights. A show of this quality has never before been seen pan India and we can certainly state that it will surely take your breath away. This show is held every evening post sunset. There is a Punjabi as well as an English show each day.

Later in evening, we went to Ksar dhaba for food, and must say its Dal Makhani is worth the visit. After our meal , we had lassi and phirnee, which were no second to delicious food.

We ended our day , visiting the Golden temple , as its most peaceful place on this earth. Sri Harmandir Sahib (lit. “the abode of God”), also known as Golden Temple and the Darbar Sahib, is the holiest Gurdwara and the most important pilgrimage site of Sikhism It is located in the city of Amritsar, Punjab, India.The temple is built around a man-made pool (sarovar) that was completed by Guru Ram Das in 1577. Tips from Day 1:

1. Its a long less stop journey ,so carry food items and water. Even if you forget, you will get many dhaba’s on way but its not worthy
2. Dont forget to keep toffees & mouth freshners to keep you awake 😛
3. You got many tolls on the way , so be prepared with lot of small currency money, as sometimes they dont have change, and you lose. Cards are not accepted on many tolls
4. Travel light as its a new city and you cannot trust anyone
5. Book your rooms in advance and try to stay in city, rather than staying  near known places, as there the roads are thin and you face lot of trouble, taking in and out your car.
6. Parking is not free, as people demand there 100 rs for just 1 night and day charges extra.
7. Prefer local transport there, or you can walk by, as everything is not much far. Charges are not too high, so max Rs10 per person.
8. Travel wearing comfortable sandals or juttis as max places you have to take them off

For Sake of Love | Review

Start of new year and love of month Feb flows in soon. I started it my new resolution to read books and engage myself to learn new emotions. Love is not my type, so thot to try a romantic novel for my resolution. I choose to start with 2018 new book, “For the Sake of Love” by Anamika Mishra. Since she is from my hometown Kanpur, I preferred reading her thoughts.

The book talks about Love and being loyal to it. Author has well expediated the meaning of being in Love. Now a day’s people do everything in exchange of benefits, but Love is an emotion to feel and flow with no benefit strategies. This book narrates a heart touching love story of a David and Jasmine who stayed in Shimla. The story flows in present and past both, with perfect connection with reader. No ambiguity in writing which again makes it a good read, with its simplicity.

About the Author:

Her debut novel Too hard to handle was released in Sept 2013. This is her 3^rd novel and must say , her writing has improved to large extent. She understands her readers well and writes the plot which keeps you attached to book, and wait for climax.She is also a blogger and occasionally delivers motivational talks. Writing is her first passion.

For me, Love is a commitment to live for & by of someone, who may be yours, but still you have trust & be loyal to it with nothing in exchange. Falling in love is easy but being in love whole life with the same person is something which not everyone is capable off.

The end of one is beginning of other and this leads to Connection between Twisha & Alex. Plot is very interesting and keep readers engaged. Its neither too slow or fast , so well paced.

Gajjar ka Halwa Recipe

Gajar ka Halwa is a light nutritious dessert with less fat than many other typical South Asian desserts. The dessert is traditionally eaten during all of the festivals in India, mainly on the occasion of Diwali.It has a medium shelf life so its always better to prepare little and consume early.

As per Wiki, In 300 grams of gajar halwa there are 268 calories (76 come from fat, 180 from carbohydrate and 16 from protein). It can be prepared easily usin g microwave or pressure cooker but i dont like that taste, since gajjar doesnt get enough time to soak and dry. To add rich taste to your halwa, so that its melts in mouth, cook it in milk, and add khoya at end.

So let me share my recipe ,which is very easy and taught to me by my Mom and grandma.

Time to cook : 1.5hrs

Ingredient:

• 2kg carrot (गाजर)
• 400 gm Khoya (400 ग्राम खोया)
• 250 gm Sugar (चीनी)
• ½ litre milk (1/2 लीटर दुध)
• 50 gm each of almond, nuts & raisins (50 ग्राम कटी हुई बादाम, काजू ,किशमिश)
• 1 spoon cardamom powder (इलायची )

Method of Preparation:

1. Peel, wash and then grate the carrots. You can grate it manually using grating tool or you can use food processors to ease out your work. (take 15mins)
2. Heat a pan and put the grated carrot and cook on medium flame till the raw smell disappears. (approx. 20-25 mins). Don’t hurry to go to step 3. Let water evaporate properly so that carrot can consume Milk nicely in next step. If you leave carrots slightly wet then Milk will not be properly consumed by carrot and it will not melt properly in mouth at the end.

3. Add milk and boil on low flame till thick. You can put a lid over your pan and relax for sometime. It will take minimum 20 mins. You can stir in between so that carrot doesn’t stick to your pan.
4. Once it starts thickening ,add sugar and stir. Cook on low flame for further thickness. When you add sugar, it will again leave lot of water, so cook evenly to let water evaporate. This step again takes 15-20 mins. Stir in between.
5. Meanwhile grate khoya and keep aside.
6. Once you see carrots are dried (least wet), add Khoya, which you have grated before.
7. Continue to cook and stir the carrot mixture till it dries.
8. Add cardamom powder and stir.
9. Finally garnish with almond, nuts and raisins.

Carrot Halwa or Gajjar ka Halwa is ready. Serve hot
