Gravity Spacebar is the new launch in G-town , Sec 29 last month. It is more than a Pub or a restro bar. So to feel you Friday nights and make them light with Gravity free, do visit this place. Here you can experience a different ambience which give a zoom mirror way outs and exquisite seating experience on 1st floor. Its lavishly settled with comfortable seating and environment. 2nd floor is a kind of open terrace with 50% covered area. Its humongous and lot of space to do Space Walk 😛

Sec 29 of Gtown is always known for its new remarkable entries in restaurant chains and this one has been on top since opened. We visited this placed last month with friends and family for Friday celebrations and had a gala time. Service is quick and servers understand what they are serving. Lot of variety in snacks both Veg and non veg gives you flexibility to eat wat you desire. It has a spectacular vibe and ambience with a space-like look and feel. It offers you both family and friends vibes. At 2nd floor you have comfortable Cane chair seating along with few sofa seatings on the side. They have arranged outdoor Jhulla seating also.

We ordered for lot of snacks & mains in veg and non veg. Best was starting refreshments which had unique names. All the drinks were served & very nicely presented. The Best in Mocktail was “Get Lost in Summer” which was a Mango based drink, was perfect for the season as well. In Cocktails best was Whiskey Sour which was having nice flavour and kick to it.

C1c2

In snacks we had, Pao bhaji fondue, which was really good. Small small pao’s filled with yummy bhaji, blended spices, tasted yumm. Chilli paneer borek was okayish, holding tender paneer but missing flavors, Paalak patta chaat, was crispy and was filled with chaas foam. Could be better if has more chaat flavors like chat masala. Nachos Pizza, was best nachos served with pizza toppings Hanging Garden which was innovative Garlis naans with Dal Makhni foam. Everything was according to theme and flavour.

If you’re wanting to explore and try out something different, you can definitely give it a try. Find it here:

Gajjar ka Halwa Recipe

Gajar ka Halwa is a light nutritious dessert with less fat than many other typical South Asian desserts. The dessert is traditionally eaten during all of the festivals in India, mainly on the occasion of Diwali. It has a medium shelf life so its always better to prepare little and consume early.

As per Wiki, In 300 grams of gajar halwa there are 268 calories (76 come from fat, 180 from carbohydrate and 16 from protein). It can be prepared easily usin g microwave or pressure cooker but i dont like that taste, since gajjar doesnt get enough time to soak and dry. To add rich taste to your halwa, so that its melts in mouth, cook it in milk, and add khoya at end.

So let me share my recipe ,which is very easy and taught to me by my Mom and grandma.

Time to cook : 1.5hrs

Ingredient:

  • 2kg carrot (गाजर)
  • 400 gm Khoya (400 ग्राम खोया)
  • 250 gm Sugar (चीनी)
  • ½ litre milk (1/2 लीटर दुध)
  • 50 gm each of almond, nuts & raisins (50 ग्राम कटी हुई बादाम, काजू ,किशमिश)
  • 1 spoon cardamom powder (इलायची )

Collage

Method of Preparation:

  1. Peel, wash and then grate the carrots. You can grate it manually using grating tool or you can use food processors to ease out your work. (take 15mins)
  2. Heat a pan and put the grated carrot and cook on medium flame till the raw smell disappears. (approx. 20-25 mins). Don’t hurry to go to step 3. Let water evaporate properly so that carrot can consume Milk nicely in next step. If you leave carrots slightly wet then Milk will not be properly consumed by carrot and it will not melt properly in mouth at the end.
  1. Add milk and boil on low flame till thick. You can put a lid over your pan and relax for sometime. It will take minimum 20 mins. You can stir in between so that carrot doesn’t stick to your pan.
  2. Once it starts thickening ,add sugar and stir. Cook on low flame for further thickness. When you add sugar, it will again leave lot of water, so cook evenly to let water evaporate. This step again takes 15-20 mins. Stir in between.
  3. Meanwhile grate khoya and keep aside.
  4. Once you see carrots are dried (least wet), add Khoya, which you have grated before.
  5. Continue to cook and stir the carrot mixture till it dries.
  6. Add cardamom powder and stir.
  7. Finally garnish with almond, nuts and raisins.

Carrot Halwa or Gajjar ka Halwa is ready. Serve hot

Tawa Tales..New age kitchen with emotional touch

Now a days  food delivery is mostly in trend wrt food tables. People prefer to order food at home rather than wandering around. This has led to new food business in NCR regions with most competition. Winner deserves it when its every thing is in place. Starting from Food menu to order to delivery to Packaging to taste & presentation.

Recently we ordered food from TAWA TALES, a newbie in this business, which shares with their customer their love for food. According to their concept, “its a new age kitchen that’s all set to bring you mouthwatering delicacies from depths of India’s culinary heritage”. Will share my reviews about their modern interpretations of age old recipes.

We placed an order including both veg and non veg. quite easy to place the order and their owner Sanchali, provides full guidance in helping us decide the menu. She also guides you about the food taste, which leads to perfect customer satisfaction. Delivery was done before time as promised.

Packaging of food was perfect blend of art, culture and mind. According to Tawa tales team, they want to connect with their customer emotionally through extra value personalized items. Their packaging is both high quality & fun.Black microwave safe boxes sealed with plastic covers stating the food item inside. Every cover has Tawa tales pics on it. Food inside is packed inside foils to keep it warm.

With every order, they include a handwritten postcard for their customer stating their hardwork and love for food. Along with it they provide an InstaShot Foodmat, which is a new concept & gets food lovers a new way to click their pics.

Tawa tales has focused more on menu, which shows the amalgamation of so many dishes. This team has special relationship with several indian cuisines – from heavenly paranthas of Amritsar to staple dosas of chennai to spicy Kolkatta roles to litti choka of rajasthan.

In veg we had, Paneer Butter masala with Lachcha parantha, which was delicious. Paneer was soft & tender blended inside masala thick gravy which was medium on scoville scale. Lachcha parantha was perfect shaped and not at all oily. Next we tried their Parantha menu, where we had Mix & aloo parantha. Must say, had such tasty parantha’s after a long time. Fully stuffed, well cooked parantha’s with perfect flavors & taste. Simply loved it.

In Non veg we had , Chicken tikka masala roll, which again was served hot and tasted delicious. Chicken was soft and tender with perfect sauces inside Parantha.

In drinks we had Modi nagar ki Shikanji, which was refreshing lemon mint masala, tasting tangy and mouthwatering. In desserts, we had Walnut Phirnee, which is classic indian milk pudding thickened with rice flour with dry figs & walnut served in clay pot.

Must recommend place and would definitely try their food again.

Lohri farzified @ cyber hub,Farzi Cafe !!

Lohri is one of the most commonly celebrated festival in India and way of spreading joy.India being known for its diverse culture & traditions, here no celebration is complete without good food & dance 😊

This year we planned to celebrate lohri festival with family & friends at Farzi Café (cyber hub) who especially launched lohri menu for people to come and enjoy. To start with they have even scripted the menu card with lohri pics. Lohri is incomplete without bhangra dance on beats of dhol & relish scrumptious meals like we had here today.  So here is a short review about the same.We kicked off our day with delicious dishes like :

Bhuttia aur palak ke tinke

Presentation of the dish is an imp part which makes it more appealing. This worked out best for this dish as you can see in pics. It was curated well in form of lohri sticks. Skewers of sweet corn & spinach rolled on bamboo sticks. Prepared fresh make it feel smooth and soft when in mouth. Plated well with aloo chips that symbolized fire. Sauce was sprinkled well on sticks to symbolize flames and went well with the taste. It was prepared from bell peppers. Dish was amazingly delicious and mouth watering. We repeated the order.

C1Collage

Matka chholley with Lucchi puff

This was next dish served,& increased our hunger more as this is what Punjabi’s crave for. Pindi cholle with maida puri famous as Luchi. Cholle were well prepared with perfect blend of spices. Luchi on other hand was not at all oily adding to the beauty of festival food. Served with chilli pickle and potato fried worked as sidings. Loved this dish as it was toooo delicious.

Bathua Sarso da saag, Makai | Mooli Pide

Again Punjabi’s have to eat this traditional dish of ours to complete the Lohri rituals. Sarso da saag with makki roti is a combination of regional leafy greens cooked with ghee, jaggery & chickpeas flour. Presented in form of a ship, garnished with butter, gurr & raddish. It was a must try dish which can only be enjoyed eating with hand.

Rewari Gajjak Peanut Butter icecrea, caramel popcorns

Sweets are integral part of our punjabi’s festival. Here we had Peanut butter icecream ,which was crunchy from inside served chilled with caramel popcorns and rewari gajjak sidings. Neither too sweet neither less. Perfect blend to end your day with amazing after taste.

It was a great lohri celebration and will look forward to visit this place again!!

GO Gourmet..Fresh snacks to dine at home !!

Gourmet s a cultural idea associated with the culinary arts of fine food and drink,  which is characterized by refined, even elaborate preparations and presentations of aesthetically balanced meals of several contrasting, often quite rich courses. The term and its associated practices are usually used positively to describe people of refined taste and passion. Gourmet food tends to be served in smaller, more expensive, portions.

Being true to its meaning, Go Gourmet, is serving a tasty mix of  Salads & healthy food.It brings its own dash of cookery craziness to the table for those hungering for some scrumptious delicacies.

Gourmet restaurants are going a step further to cater to customers—by giving them the option to dine at home. Delivery services are quick and try to reach us on time as its essential that the packaging retain the freshness and quality of the chef-driven contents.

Parcel packaging is well planned showcasing the ingredients and calories intake. We placed an order for:

1) Falafel Wrap – It was so well stuffed , wholesome Falafel, hummus & veggies in a multi grained tortilla. It tasted well, but lil on spicy end
2) Classic Egg Sandwich – It was a classic combo of egg, whole wheat bread, flavored well with mustard and herbs. Tasted good.
3) BBQ Chicken Wrap – It was really good. It was flavoured Chicken breast piece stuffed in multi grain tortilla. chicken was very juicy and well spiced.
4) Shikanji – as usual they serve beverages with original content. Best in taste
5) Pom Lemonade – Similarly with this. Tasted perfect like fresh juice.

And pictures say it all 🙂

Mr. Mamagoto..Come lets play with Food !

Mamagoto, in literal meaning is an interactive, context aware Japanese dining system which encourage kids to ‘play’ with their food to sense its texture and shape. Inspired from this concept, idea of Mamagoto restro is to give their customers a fun Asian eating experience on the table.

Talking about the ambiance, its a lovely cosy setup which has seating arrangements for all. This place is known for its love towards art which you will notice in their ambiance, which is a depiction of eclectic portrayal. Here in cyber hub, they have both indoor and outdoor comfortable seating. They can definitely work on lights system as seems lil dull to me.

I have been here with my Hubby on a friday eve to enjoy after-office hours. We were immediately attended by a server who assisted us with the menu options and help us understand it , by explaining the ingredients. This was very impressive on part of their service and we quickly placed our order.

We kicked off  with starters quoted next along with our drinks, Watermelon Beach (4/5)-drink of mint, lime, watermelon, sugar, soda and sprite. It was next similar to Kiwi Mint collins (4/4). I loved their Passion fruit & orange cooler (5/5) –which was very refreshing and tasted wow.

  1. Vegetable basil cups which were minced veg, basil and thai herbs served in lettuce cups. Tasted nice with their classic sauces.
  2. Hot & sour pepper soup (Veg) (5/5), which was Mamagoto classic,as its their slight diff version in taste from tradition hot and sour soup, the very small slices of soft paneer in soup was nice and unique.
  3. Street style Dumpling – well cooked and full of veggies.
  4. Old school Gyoza-veg (5/5)- they were good in taste and lot similar to normal dumplings, just lil pan fried.
  5. Fried goat cheese taco  (3.5/5)– It tasted really well but i could nt like it much because of its smell. Goat cheese smell is obvious and liked by many, so it my personal opinion.
  6. Thai Puchka (4/5) – It tasted really good but had strong Ginger sauce traces at end, which can be improved.
  7. Crispy Lotus stem (5/5) – Cripsy and well salted. Tasted good.

C2ollage

I really liked the starter and soup, which brought up my expectations from the main course, in which we had Hakka noodles (veg) meal, which was medium spicy and one of their signature dishes. The quantity of same was good enough for one as i am noodle fan and quality of noodles was perfect. It Spicyness being on higher side added much more taste to it.

Then came Dessert time. Since i have a sweet tooth, i tried so many things here like :

1) Mamagoto Chunky Caramel Sponge Cake with toffee sauce served hot with vanilla ice-cream(3/5) . It was tasty no doubt but extra caramelised sweet, so taste differs for all.

2) Panookie (5/5)- Its a mamgoto signature choco-chip pan cookie served with ice-cream. Its crust is crispy and mouth watering. Winner dish for tonite for me.

3)coconut caramel custard (4/5) – this was served with grilled banana & macaroon dust. was delicious and quantity was good.

C3ollage

Overall I liked the experience here. They successfully followed their moto of ‘to play with food’. Will definitely visit again 🙂

AB’s are back in Gurgaon..read the review !

AB’s means my all time fav Absolute Barbeque, which is recently launched in Gurgaon at Mg road. I was skeptical about it serving less of veg options, but was really surprised to see max of veg over non veg here. They have a range of veg starters and main-course menu. Separate section are maintained for preparing the dishes and even the crockery is distinguished by colors red, green making it comfortable for servers to understand.

We were welcomed by manager Vishal, who ensured we were served at their best table. Must say it has quite spacious ambience to accomodate 100 pax. at our very moment, 2 corporate parties were going on. We had a great time interacting with one another and admiring the decor and of course the entire arrangement of the grills, live counters and the dessert counters.

Since it was a weekday, we reached by 8pm. Vishal checked with us regarding our choices and servers started serving. We tried their drinks menu, which had good variety like :

In starters (veg), i had :

Grilled Pineapple (4.5/5) – tasted wow. tangy from inside and coated with honey syrup. It’s a must try.

Kashmiri Kebab (4/5)– It was nice and tasted just like harabhara kebabs, but additions to it was raisins..which gave it a very lil sweet flavor, which again i liked.

Achari Paneer Tikka(4/5) – Excellent. Soft, well marinated and grilled paneer.

American Cheesy Potato (5/5) – Yummilicious ! no words, but i repeated it even before leaving the place.

Crispy Corn (4/5) – Liked them, but not something to rave about.

Golgappe (2.5/5) – i didnt like the water here, as it tasted bad. I gave the feedback to vishal and he explained us that the golgappe was full inhouse and he will try to make it better. Loved his sporting will to accept customer feedback.

Along with above starters, they also have big separate section to roam around and try other delicacies like Chinese, Arabian etc. which compound to their  “Wish grills” section. We tried the chu chur naan with paneer khurchan (5/5), which was highlight of the evening. Must must try !! other section had noodles prepared with som many non veg options like squids, octopus, shark, mutton etc. We sensed absolutely no foul odour and they were beautifully cooked and wow what a great taste! The rabbit and the quail tasted delicious with perfect spices around. The shark meat was something new i tried and was well spicy & rich in aroma. It’ll definitely wake up your taste buds!

Collage1

In main course, we tried dal makhani,, aloo gobhi masala, sarso ka saag with breads. Next round we tried Hakka noodles with manchurian. Loved the flavors and aroma of the perfect cooked food.

C2ollage

Last but nt least, is most imp part of meal. DESSERTS, which here was like a live counter. Customers can select the ingredients like flavour of the ice-cream ,toppings etc and person behind the counter works magic on it to prepare wowww delicious deserts. Their specialty is Paan ice-cream which is yummylicious. Next wish item was Gewar with rabri (5/5). Other options are humongous like 5 varieties of pastry, banana cheese cake, angoori gulab jamun, strawberry pudding, saffron phirni, chocolate balls etc. Now it needs no words to describe as it was yumyylicious.

C3ollage

Service was awesome. Extremely polite, friendly & quick.

Highly recommended !! Will definitely plan my next corporate party here 🙂

Homemade festive delights with easydiner | Recipes for sweet tooth

Homemade festive delights presented by Nestle Milkmaid & Nestle Grekyo
Festival season is round the clock and we all enjoy eating delightful desserts. So its a call out to all lovely people reading my blog now, here i am with my last event coverage, which happened at Indigo Delicatessen, cyber hub in collaboration with Easydiner last week. We had a fun-filled sweet sweet day as we learned so many dessert recipes from chef Rahul, using Nestle Grekyo Yogurt & milkmaid.
Event was inaugurated by Nestle Product/brand manager , where he described about Nestle and its products, specifically he shared more about Greek yogurt which was VIP guest of tonite.

Do you know Grekyo yogurt of nestle is prepared using different bacteria with milk powder. Shocked to hear it. Read more to know recipes made out of it !!
DSC_1438

Chef Rahul, took over from him and started sharing his secret recipes.

Let me provide you a short overview of the event:
1) Condensed milk cup cake
It was yummlicious cupcake i ever had. Soft and moist from inside decorated with a swirl of delicious buttercream frosting. and butterscotch crunches.
Ingredients:
  • Butter  85gm (room temperature & softened)
  • 250gm Nestle condensed milk
  • 1Egg
  • 1tpsn or 5gm baking powder
  • 125gm of Refined flour
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla extract
Ready In : 30mins
Serves : 10 people
Steps:
  • Preheat oven to 375f or 190c; line muffin cups with papers.
  • Cream butter till light and fluffy
  • Add Nestle condensed milk gradually and beat both now. Don’t add once else lumps will get created.
  • Add 1egg..if u want to avoid egg, you can add more condensed milk.If you want to add more eggs, do it one at a time.
  • Now add Refined flour (mixed with baking powder). Easily mix & churn so there are no lumps. Don’t move it fast,as it will become sleek
  • Now add Vanilla extract & Keep it aside for 5mins so texture is even.
  • Now fill it up in prepared cups. Don’t overflow, so just fill it up till 2/3 of cup.
  • Preheat it in Oven at 175 degree for 20mins.
Suggestion: Best part of this recipe is No machines required at home. Secondly in cupcakes..use less baking powder as you don’t require much fluffiness.
Icing: For icing your cupcakes, you can use chocolate ganache, as it gives both flavors of a chocolate and full of cream. Its 1/2 choc 1/2 cream. Sometimes prepared in Rum too, to give alcoholic flavor. Else decorate with a swirl of delicious buttercream frosting.

2. Baked yogurt
This recipe can be prepared using any flavored Nestle Grekyo yogurts in less than 15mins and Serves 5 people. This dessert is absolutely divine – just try it once and you will want to make it again and again. Best point here is, we don’t have to remember the chef maths, since all ingredients are used in equal proportions. Its perfect for parties as they can be made ahead of time. Here is how to make baked vanilla yogurt.
Ingredients:
  • 200gm Caramelized Condensed milk ( Its a different ingredient prepared over 4.5hrs in a boiling pan, keep on stirring)
  • 1/2 cup or 200gm Fresh cream
  • 1/2 cup or 200 gm flavored grekyo yogurt
  • 1/2 a teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Take a bowl and add in half a cup each of Flavored Grekyo yogurt, heavy cream and condensed milk. In India, we do not get heavy whipping cream. We get only low fat cream and it works fine for this recipe.
  • Now we need to add 1/2 a teaspoon vanilla. We need real good quality vanilla extract for this recipe. Please do not use imitation vanilla.
  • Mix everything well until smooth.
  • Pour it in cups or vodka shot glasses and bake in a 160° Celsius oven for 13-14 minutes. No need to preheat the oven for this recipe.
  • After 15 minutes, the middle of the cup should be jiggly. If its still liquid, bake for a couple of minutes more. Do not let it cook for long else it will become hard. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool.

Suggestion: Secret of this recipe is to place the glasses in “Water Bath”, which means hot boiled water.
